The sunset of life. My personal description for when our loved ones pass to spirit and leave their body here on earth.
For me this photograph I took a few evenings ago sums it up perfectly. So calm, so restful, so beautiful, so colourful.
Isn’t it great when we think we know what we have planned for the weekend and it all gets changed at the last minute. As anyone who works with energies of any type will agree, energy is forever changing and evolving so that life is able to flow and move forward when we learn to be in the same mode. The more we try to stay still and hang on to what we have the harder life will be.
I have had a sad message that told me of a passing this weekend. This isn’t anyone I personally knew but felt I did as every time his sister came for a tarot reading she always asked how long does he have left, can the cards tell me? Now normally I would try to skirt around such a question as I strongly believe everyone has free will to decide when it right for them and no one has an input into this. But for some reason I felt they had a close relationship and it was helping her to prepare to move on with her life when the inevitable happened. She has thanked me for being wrong, yes that is a first, as the prediction was out by approximately a month. As you can imagine she is pleased that the whole family had that extra time to enjoy together. He is now out of his agonising pain and the family is able to look back at his time here on earth with a smile. And to be honest that makes me smile.
Talking of moving on I better get my skates on as I do have a busy day doing housey things and preparing for sharing the platform at Wakefield spiritualist church this evening with the lovely Val Trainer. Have a great day everyone 😸
What exactly is kindness and what makes one person kinder than another? And of course, which crystal is best suited to this theme.
Working with and carrying Green Aventurine opens up the heart chakra and unlocks a natural generous nature as it promotes empathy and compassion in those who wish to embrace its vibration and energy.
If we do not look after ourselves first and foremost we will soon start to feel less able to shower kindness on others, therefore we definitely need to nurture our own mind, body and spirit on a regular basis. When we learn to be kind to ourselves, over time it then becomes so much easier to naturally pass on this behaviour to others.
Kindness is when we give of ourselves without expecting anything in return. Have you ever sat back and thought about what impact your actions and words have on others and how you feel when we have shown someone an act of generosity and kindness? Does it make you feel better in yourself? Have you noticed that you then attract great acts of kindness in return from the ones that are around you in the most unexpected ways.
How could your life change if you were able to be mindful of yourself as well as others on a regular basis?
Carrying a piece of Green Aventurine, will help to open you up to making the sacrifice required to help someone else who is in greater need, highlighting opportunities where you will be able to offer your assistance before it has been requested.
Aventurine is a variety of quartz that can often contains bright particles of mica or hematite and is available in the different colours of peach, red, blue, green and brown.
When used in a healing environment it is particularly beneficial for warding off heart attacks and lowering cholesterol as well as balancing blood pressure. It is a very positive stone and brings about a stable state of mind and stimulates ones perception and creativity.
All crystal collections should include a piece of Green Aventurine as it very gently opens, clears and balances the heart chakra. Try it and see what happens for you, you could be presently surprised.
This month, Turquoise has been chosen as the crystal of the month. Turquoise is known as the anti-negativity crystal with the Native American Indians believing it bestows a deep feeling of thankfulness on those that carry it.
Why do we become thankless? What causes our thought patterns to work that way? Why do we not show gratitude for all that we have in life?
These questions have been highlighted as the theme chosen for the month is Gratitude. Turquoise is known to improve all communication activities especially verbal and the written word. When we make changes to our internal and external voice from the negative to the positive, over time we can only then begin to notice the simple things in life that have been overlooked for so long. Counting your blessings, and acknowledging everything that you have worked hard to achieve and have been fortunate to receive over the years shows that miracles really do happen on a daily basis.
Turquoise helps to introduce wisdom and understanding back into our lives. It opens our eyes to the beauty that truly is all around us. When we are absorbed in the negative we really are blind to the wonders that occur on a regular basis. It also assists in promoting self-realisation as it slowly dissolves self-sabotaging thoughts and actions.
The daily practice of showing gratitude opens us up to a pure happiness and makes us more aware of exactly what we have achieved in our lifetime. This then works to reduce our stress levels as we no longer totally look towards what we want but rather to what we have already.
We often take our life for granted especially the most important things such as our friends and family, our home and possessions, our career. Can you imagine how you react if something suddenly happened and you lost all of the things that mean the most to you. How would you cope? How grateful would you be if it were possible to have these things returned to you. Why wait for them to be taken from you before you realise, show gratitude now.
This crystal is very popular for a number of reasons and is widely available. All crystal collections should include a piece of Turquoise as it reduces inflammation and pain as it detoxifies the whole body. It works to improve the immune system as well as balancing the chakras.
February has always been known as the month of Love. This is the time of year when we celebrate St Valentine’s Day, or, the feast of St Valentine, where we traditionally declare our undying love secretly or as in today’s world more openly. Cupid also is very busy during this time as he works along side St Valentine where he shoots his little arrow into the heart of your chosen one and makes the person fall head over heals in love with you.
For this month I have chosen Rose Quartz as my favourite crystal as it is well known as the stone of gentle, unconditional love. It teaches us how to love not only ourselves but all of those around us too. It opens up the heart centre to allow the feelings of true love to flow deep and wide.
But I hear you say, that is fine for those that are in a relationship already but how can Rose Quartz help me to find the love of my life. How can it attract a loving relationship to me???
Well I will let you into a little secret that has been proven to work in the past. Honestly. All you have to do is follow the instructions and believe.
Firstly take your chosen piece of rose quartz and cleanse it under running water and then leave it to recharge over night under the moonlight.
Then take a piece of A4 paper and draw a line down the centre. At the top of the left hand column write the word ‘Want’. At the top of the left hand column write the words ‘Don’t Want’. Now this is where you can be as creative and imaginative as you want. Write down everything that you are looking for in a partner, and everything you don’t want also. You can list absolutely anything, from the colour of their hair to the type of car they may drive. When you are happy with your lists, fold the piece of paper into 4 and place it in a safe place with your piece of rose quartz on top of it. And leave it alone. The only word of warning is be careful what you ask for as you may just be in for a shock.
When used in a healing environment it is especially beneficial to the physical heart and circulatory system. It is effective in the treatment of healing emotional wounds as it releases the negative energy that is stored in the heart chakra.
Why not consider enjoying the benefits of a personal one to one crystal healing.
Blue Lace Agate for Blue Monday
At the start of January we are usually full of beans and raring to race head long into the coming year. Then, as the month slowly trundles on the weather gets colder and the nights seem longer and darker. The bills arrive showing any debt built up during the Christmas spending spree. We have usually abandoned our New Years resolution and lost our motivation to continue but still have a feeling that we need to take action. All of this leads to what the experts call Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year and in 2013 it falls on Monday 21st January.
So, for this reason Blue Lace Agate has been chosen as our favourite crystal of the month as it brings in a cooling peace of mind and helps us to freely express our thoughts and feelings. January is a hard month to get through for many as the lack of sunshine and warmth reduces our energy levels and this is where this crystal comes into its own. It is a deeply nurturing and supportive stone that works by evenly balancing out the physical, emotional and intellectual energies.
Blue Lace Agate is an amazing stone that works especially well on the throat, neck, shoulder and chest area. Opening up the throat chakra to allow free self-expression and new modes of communication which can be highly beneficial when one is starting to feel down and out of sorts with themselves.
This is a variegated form of Chalcedony that displays differing pretty shades of blue and white often found in a lace pattern effect when the stone is polished and tumbled.
When used in a healing environment it is especially beneficial to arthritic and rheumatoid conditions, which can be worsened during the cold damp winter months. It is known for strengthening the skeletal system as a whole and cleanses the lymphatic system.
Wearing a piece of Blue Lace Agate will enhance your mental function, increase your concentration levels and analytical abilities. This is exactly what is required to overcome the depressive feelings that can be sensed on Blue Monday.

The month of November reminds us that another year is nearly over as we start to think towards the coming year and all it is going to bring for us. This is a good month to reflect on what have been both the highlights and low lights of 2012 for us. To seriously think about what we would like to achieve for ourselves over the next 12 months and to allow our desire for new experiences to be reawakened.
This time Mookite has been chosen as our favourite crystal of the month as it has a wonderfully calming energy to carry with you during your daily life. One of its specialities is that is helps one to move forward in life with ease and gives the confidence to believe in your decision making process. It openly encourages balanced thoughts and allows you to remain flexible and honest with any new ideas you may have.
Mookite is an astonishing stone for those who feel they are alone or just lonely. It is also a great stone that is available to help those who are often kind to all others and forget about themselves and it reminds them to start to think of themselves in a kind and loving manner too.
Mookite is a variety of jasper and is often referred to as Australian Jasper. It is available in a blend of colours ranging from mustard yellow to deep burgundy red.
When used in a healing environment it is beneficial to the immune system and for purifying the blood.

The month of October symbolises the end of the summer months and a shedding of the old starts for the year. The dark and dismal days of winter are finally starting to show themselves as the nights draw in and the evenings become darker and colder. Winter will be upon us before we know it.
For this reason Sardonyx has been chosen as my favourite crystal of the month. It is here to bring in a sense of happiness by dispelling any feelings of depression. The specific vibrations will allow you to rediscover the delights in your life. It can be of benefit to those who wish to attract friendships on all levels as well as bring in good fortune. Now who would say no to an abundance of good fortune before the year ends ……
Sardonyx is known as the ‘stone of virtue’ as it symbolises strength and protection, its energy promotes integrity and virtuous good conduct throughout the many areas of our life. It is perfect for gridding the home and garden as it is a wonderful crystal for repelling crime and deterring unwanted intruders. How perfect would that be for us all at this time of year.
Sardonyx is a variety of onyx that contains multiple bands and layers of carnelian and chalcedony and is available in the different colours of black, red and brown.
When used in a healing environment it is beneficial to the lungs and bones as well as re-sensitising the sensory organs and immune system.

We find ourselves in a time of transition and transformation during the month of September, when the seasons once again start to change from late summer to early autumn. This period is known as the Autumn Equinox and this year it falls on September 22nd. For those that are unsure, Equinox means equal length to both day and night time hours, ie 12 hours exactly and this is also an important time in the calendar as it signifies the first day of Autumn.
For this reason, Citrine has been chosen as this month’s favourite crystal to work with. September is the perfect month for us to look back at what we have received, experienced and learnt so far this year and give thanks before we start to prepare ourselves for the long, dark winter months ahead.
As the nights start to draw in, the arrival of colder days and longer hours of darkness can strongly affect our mood. Citrine is known as a happy and joyful stone that has the ability to bring about a deep feeling of euphoria and light heartedness. This makes it perfect to use in the coming months.
The Autumnal Equinox can also be known to some as Alban Elfed, Autumnal Equinox, Cornucopia, Fall Equinox, Feast of Avilon, Festival of Dionysus, Harvest Home, Harvest Tide, Night of the Hunter, Second Harvest Festival, Wine Harvest and Witch’s Thanksgiving.
Citrine is also a wonderful stone for manifesting our future wishes and dreams and removing any negativity and self-destructive tendencies that are with us that could be holding us back from achieving our desires. So carry your piece of Citrine to help you say thank you for what you have received and for what you have to look forward to in the future.
Did you also know that Citrine is one of the most powerful stones used for attracting wealth. Place a piece in your purse or wallet, cash box or on top of your cheque book. A selection of pieces are available for you to purchase from The Happiness Centre from £1. Try it and see what happens for you, you could be surprised.
